GUSTAVSVÄRN
a cultural heritage project for Hangon’s Museum.
Third year XR-design students put together a cultural heritage project for Hangon Museon Ystävät ry about a 19th-century fortress located in the Baltic Sea. The originally Swedish-built fortress successfully defended itself and the city of Hanko against a combined Anglo-French fleet during the Crimean war in the 1800s whilst under Russian occupation.
The students produced a photogrammetry-based reconstruction of the site with a touchscreen application in Unreal Engine 4.27 to go along with the 3D-model.
My main tasks in this project:
- Environment design and set dressing in UE4
- Asset / Scene management in UE4
- Xsens motion capturing for the battle sequence and management in UE4
- Processing photogrammetry model in Reality Capture
